Washed Arabica Coffee is also Known as Plantation Coffee. It is the finest among all the coffee beans. In the wet process, the fruit covering the seeds/beans is removed before they are dried. Coffee processed by the wet method is called wet processed or washed coffee. The wet method requires the use of specific equipment and substantial quantities of water.
• Sieve/Screen Size: Retained on Sieve Size 5.50 mm (Screen 14) — Minimum 75% by weight.
• Moisture Content: Maximum 10.5%
• Triage / Broken Beans: Up to 5% triage / slight chips allowed.
• Black Seeds & Unwanted Matter: Max 1% acceptable imperfections.
• Visual Character & Permissible Defects: Small, mixed variable sizing with visible superficial defects or spotting.
• Cupping & Flavor Profile: Bittersweet cacao and heavier, rustic woody elements with an uneven cup profile.
• Acidity Profile: Very dull, flat, or undetectable acidity.
• Commercial / Roasting Application: Value ground blends, dark roast filler lines, and instant coffee processing.
